Brunswick No. 1 took delivery of new Genesis Hydraulic Rescue tools today and completed training on their use and maintenance. The purchase consisted of a Genesis eForce 2.0 series battery operated S44 24″ spreader and a C195 NXT gen cutter, both are powered with Milwaukee li-ion batteries. Brunswick No.1 has used hydraulic rescue tools since 1999. Previous tools the fire company operated required a separate gas power plant and hoses that connected the tools to the power plant. In just the last few years all manufacturers in the hydraulic rescue tool market have seen a dramatic increase in demand for battery operated tools and they taking over the market. Battery operated tools now make up a majority of hydraulic rescue tools and account for 60% of Genesis’s sales. The tools are just as powerful as conventional tools but are lighter and more maneuverable. The Genesis tools are some of the best tool sin the industry and carry a lifetime warranty and require nearly NO maintenance, because of this the tools will pay for themselves when compared to maintenance and repairs of conventional systems. Brunswick No.1 would like to thank Randy Sheer of Vandermolen Fire for spending the day with us not only training on the tools, but also providing us with much needed Extrication training, and a special thanks to all the members who participated! Thank You!
